Chef Anton Two Time United Stated Trick Shot Champion Welcome back to Chef Anton’s Magical Menu of Pool Ball Wizardry. I am sure it has been a long month with eager anticipation, but now it is time to announce the runner up Chef Anton’s Original Trick Shot/Betcha Contest. In the unlikely event, that something were to “accidentally happen” to next month’s winner, this shot would win. The second place winner is Dave. Much like last month’s 3rd place winner, this shot is: quick and easy to set up, makes a great betcha, and it puts a new spin on an old concept. The shot can be performed two different ways. Let’s look at both. “Line 3 balls up between the 2 side pockets. Put
the cue ball wherever you feel comfortable and than do as the picture
shows you. You can either make all three in one shot or two.
To make them all in one shot, you shoot all 3 in a straight
line into the side pocket using a push stroke.
While this is illegal in pool, it is perfectly legal in trick
shots. The second way is
to shoot the shot as diagrammed.
Hit between the 7 ball and 8 ball.
That will pocket the 6 ball in the side pocket, the 7 ball will
bank into the lower corner, and the 8 ball will go towards the other
corner pocket. Play
position with the cue and then pocket the 8 ball.
If you are left with a difficult shot on the 8 ball, you can
just knock it in while using Mike Massey’s line “Once my opponent
saw me make those two, he conceded the game knowing I could make the 8
ball.” Wow.
Well, there it is. Congratulations once again to Dave. For his efforts, Dave will receive a free autographed color poster. Here is an excellent challenge for you aspiring trick shot artists, can you find a way to consistently make all three balls in one shot? If you can, you may very well win next year’s contest. Be sure and keep your entries coming…next year’s contest is only 1 year away. Thanks and Bon Appetit. Send a betcha or an original trick shot and win a FREE Copy ofI need your help. I am in search of learning every “betcha” in existence. For example, the oldest pool betcha known to man is where the three ball are balanced on the end rail in a pyramid configuration, and you bet your mark you can hit the other two balls first. This is exactly what I am interested in finding. So if you know any “grifts”, even if they do not apply to pool, send it to me immediately. I will give an autographed video for every “betcha” sent to me that I have not seen before. If you are not sure if I have seen it or not, send it anyway. Please e-mail me at Betcha@ChefAnton.com or mail your entries to: Chef Anton’s Trick Shot Contest 6213 Sacramento Ave Alta Loma, CA 91701 Thanks and Bon Appetit!!!
