Chef Anton

Two Time United Stated Trick Shot Champion

Welcome back to Chef Anton’s Magical Menu of Pool Ball Wizardry.  This is a trick I developed about 20 years ago.  I performed it before the finals of The Bicycle Club Tournament between Mike Sigel and Kim Davenport.  After Mike won, he came over and said that he loved that shot and wanted me to teach him how to do it.  After I did, he was elated.  He said it was his favorite trick shot; thus’ it was named Mike Sigel’s Favorite in honor of one of pool greatest legends.  Last year I performed this shot on Monday Night Football.  It is a wonderful addition to any exhibition.

This is a great shot because it is magical yet easy to perform.  The premise is simple enough.  You are playing in the finals of the California State 9-ball championships.  There are three balls left – the 7-ball, the 8-ball, and the 9-ball.  However, suddenly there is a giant earthquake.  Your opponent throws his stick on the table, the triangle falls off the light and lands next to the corner, and the 9-ball flies through the air and lands on top of the 7-ball.  (Balance the 7-ball on top of the 9-ball…if you do not know how, email me and I will let you know.  Shoot with high right hand English with a medium stroke and magically all of the pool balls will disappear.

Thanks and Bon Appetit.

I need your help.  I am in search of learning every “betcha” in existence.  For example, the oldest pool betcha known to man is where the three ball are balanced on the end rail in a pyramid configuration, and you bet your mark you can hit the other two balls first.  This is exactly what I am interested in finding.

So if you know any “grifts”, even if they do not apply to pool, send it to me immediately.  I will give an autographed video for every “betcha” sent to me that I have not seen before.  If you are not sure if I have seen it or not, send it anyway.  Please e-mail me at Betcha@ChefAnton.com or mail your entries to:
